Led by Ivonne Vazquez of Bas Rouge Farm & Forge, this workshop will focus on identifying native plants as they emerge, observing soil and environmental conditions to understand why placing the right plant in the right place matters. The hybrid two-hour program includes a slide presentation, outdoor exploration of the surrounding trails, and take-home handouts.
Vazquez is the owner/grower at Bas Rouge Farm & Forge a Native Plant Nursery, Basic Gardening Instructor at Bangor Adult Education, licensed Registered Maine Guide/Recreation, public speaker on native plants, gardening topics and is a Green Infrastructure Practitioner.
