Their vegetable gardens span about 1/4 acre and consist of 21 different beds\, which are managed on a 7-year crop rotation plan and with low-till practices. They have also cultivated many perennial plants\, including a home orchard\, which features various fruit trees\, vines\, and shrubs. Composting has been key to their approach to sustainable and successful gardening. Tom manages three different composting systems: vermicompost bins\, larger compost piles\, and leaf mold piles. Gain some garden inspiration on this tour\, while learning a bit about composting and other climate-smart gardening practices. \nQuestions? Email events@mofga.org. \n\n\nRegister Here\n \nRegistration info: Tours in the Gather & Grow Series are kept free\, with support from participant donations; and this year\, with support from the Davis Conservation Foundation. Pre-registration is required\, as space is limited. Tour details will be shared via email ahead of the event date.
